Let`s imagine the situation, when you can`t set a goal or you have already set a goal, but, for some reasons, you can`t start, take steps, act and achieve it. You don`t have a motivation to do a job, moreover a lot of other jobs rise from nowhere and they have nothing to do with your goal.
Of course, this means that there is a limiting belief or internal conflict at the level of values and standards that prevents you from moving forward.
Follow these simple steps, write the answers in your journal and pay attention to how motivated you were before this exercise. How motivated you are after doing the exercise. What changes do you notice?
1 ․ Write down the goal or the action that you have been trying to do for a long time but can`t get started.
2 ․ List the criteria that motivate you to take that action. How are you when you follow those criteria?
3 ․ List the criteria that prevent you from achieving the goal or acting. How are you when you follow those criteria?
4 ․ Is there such an important criteria that you will always find time to do your job, no matter what the circumstances. What values will you be guided by in that case? Which values will give special meaning to your action or goal? What will you be like when you pursue those values?
5 ․ Combine the answers in points 4 and 2 and define your desired behavior (because 4, I need to be 2). Then re-formulate your desired behavior, taking into account the obstacles you have described in point 3. How can you achieve your goal or act, taking into account the obstacles of point 3? What are your options?
6 ․ How do you imagine yourself when you meet the criteria mentioned in points 2 և 4? How important is that to you?
